Interesting hobby job! Sounds like he is having a great time. I set up a one day a week consulting practice and fill the rest of my week with volunteer work chairing a college board and a charitable foundation plus many shared active hobbies with my wife. These include running, tennis, hiking, bushwhacking, skiing, pickleball, off roading, fishing and travel. I also blog on retirement, careers and personal finance and appear as a guest on podcasts. I find I’m too busy sometimes but I’m certainly not bored so far after three years of retirement.
